Valli Aquilane Extra-virgin Olive Oil
History
The quality of oil reflects the unique features of the production area and the skills of olive growers looking after their trees according to traditions handed down from generation to generation. The first evidences of the olive growing vocation in Abruzzi date back to the Roman period.
Current Production Area in the Park: Extra-virgin olive oil produced in the Park valleys (L'Aquila).
Description
Traditional product of Regione Abruzzo, the oil is obtained from the pressing of several olive varieties like Rustica, Gentile dell'Aquila, Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino, and Monicella. It is characterized by a slightly intense fruity fragrance, herbaceous with spicy and harmonious features.
Product Availability: Harvesting takes place in autumn, and pressing is carried out a few hours after the harvesting. Oil can be found all year round.
