Museums and Visitor Centers

The Park offers a network of tourist welcome structures formed by Museums, Visitor Centers and Information Points.

A complex museum network offers the synthesis of the environmental and cultural heritage of the Park through thematic routes inspired to the naturalistic and cultural features of its territory. An itinerary that will give the opportunity to discover the fascinating events of the protected area witnessing a thousand-year old history and preserving an extraordinary community heritage the Park Authority wants to enhance and safeguard.
The Park Museums present themselves through pictures, finds, effective descriptive panels, involving multimedia equipment, often interactive: authentic "virtual journeys" giving the opportunity to grasp the reality of the various ecosystems of the protected area, discovering the extraordinary biodiversity of a territory situated in one of the most interesting naturalistic areas in Europe and in the Mediterranean. Of particular interest the Museums dedicated to the Park wildlife, offering involving emotional experiences and promoting communication exchange activities with often unexpected and surprising results. As a matter of fact, the documental aim combines with the aim to draw children, and visitors in general, closer to a new vision of wildlife implying an active safeguard, considering in other words the issue of the presence of the animals in places characterized by a strong human pressure.
The visit to the museum becomes in this way funny and exciting, and can also be completed and integrated with sensorial experiences that from the Museum reach the mountains, wildlife areas, and naturalistic trails.

All the Museums also work as tourist information points.

In the Park Visitor Centers and in the Information Points (seasonal) it is possible to find the best approach to get in touch with the great heritage of waters, forests, plants, and animals - in other words, of biodiversity - that is also the heritage of the local communities shaping themselves in this area and conveying culture, knowledge, tales, material instruments, unique foodstuffs and handicrafts.
