The Sheep Tracks
The ancient trails of transhumance
They almost slavishly follow the pre-existing Roman and medieval trail network. Sheep tracks were used to give the flocks the opportunity to move from the high-mountain pastures of Campo Imperatore towards Tavoliere delle Puglie during the cold winter months.
