The departure point is the village by the entrance of the valley:  Bussi sul Tirino (PE). Fish farming, especially of trouts and freshwater crayfishes, is still a lively activity.
Northwards one goes towards Capestrano (AQ), where it is worth visiting the Castle and the San Giovanni Church. Just before reaching the built-up area of Capestrano, near the river Tirino, hidden by the trees, it rises the S. Pietro ad oratorium Church, a small temple of history and art. Capestrano's slopes, as well as the hills around it, are cultivated with vineyards: Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino and Passerina are this zone's main vineyards.
